Retained marketing service raises awareness and customer contact

MESO has provided a retained marketing service for OPC since 2013.  Historically relying on personal contact and word of mouth, MESO has introduced effective inbound and outbound marketing activity to the oil and gas consultancy including digital (website, SEO and SEA), content, event and research projects. OPC now sources a high proportion of new clients through its website and marketing activity.

The client

OPC provides consultancy, training and technical projects for companies in the oil and gas sector.  A subsurface engineering specialist, OPC helps companies to find, develop and produce oil & gas efficiently and safely.  Established in 1988, OPC has an excellent reputation amongst its long-standing client base but lacks the market presence of larger competitors.  With offices in 8 countries around the world, OPC has a truly global service offering and a need to communicate with potential clients in every continent.

Established in 1988, OPC has an excellent reputation amongst its long-standing client base but lacks the market presence of larger competitors.  With offices in 8 countries around the world, OPC has a truly global service offering and a need to communicate with potential clients in every continent.  However, without an experienced dedicated marketing within the business, marketing activity had been sporadic, untargeted and managed by a variety of different team members.

So our challenge was to provide a retained marketing service which raised the awareness and interest of OPC amongst potential clients in an effective and co-ordinated way.

Following an initial audit of marketing activity, MESO was contracted to provide a retained marketing service with Mike Ellingham acting as the dedicated marketing consultant for the business.  Mike visited the OPC London office on a weekly basis and set about establishing a co-ordinated marketing strategy and activity plan which included:
